ZipOut Self-Extractor Shell

The ZipOut Self-Extractor Shell provides the user interface for recipients of messages that receive a self-extracting executable file created by ZipOut. To create a self-extracting file, check the Create Self-Extracting File box in the ZipOut Options dialog box.

ZipOut Shell Features

• View the items contained in a .zip file and determine file name, modified date/time, original bytes, zipped bytes, compression ratio (%), compression method, file attributes, and stored file path for each item in the .zip file. 
• Extract the items contained in the self-extracting file to a file system folder.
• Specify a password to open items in an encrypted self-extracting file.
• Specify an Extract-to folder where items will be extracted.
• Append a path stored for an item in the self-extracting file to the current Extract-to folder.

Note  You cannot add or delete items to a self-extracting file with the ZipOut Self-Extractor Shell. If you require this functionality, then you should obtain a general purpose Zip utility.

ZipOut Shell controls

Select All  Selects all the items contained in the self-extracting file.

Extract Item(s)  Extracts all the selected items in the self-extracting file to the folder specified in the Extract-to Path box. If you check the Append Item's path box, the path information stored when the file was zipped will be added to the Extract-to folder path. When you compress Outlook attachments with ZipOut, no path is added to the self-extracting file attachment.

Done  Exits the ZipOut Self-Extractor Shell.

Password  Enter a password for encrypted self-extracting files. You must supply the password before you can extract the zipped item. 

Browse  Click the Browse button to change the Extract-to folder.

Cancel  Click the Cancel button to halt extraction of an item in the self-extracting file.
