How ZipOut works with the Outlook E-mail Security Update

Initial Configuration

ZipOut automatically detects the installation of the Outlook E-mail Security Update. Depending upon whether the security update is installed, ZipOut will configure its options as follows:

Feature Security Update Installed Security Update Not Installed
Block harmful attachments Off Off
Check Zip for blocked files On On
Warn when opening items Off On

Recognition of Administrative Settings

If the administrative component of the Outlook E-mail Security Update has been installed and configured, ZipOut will attempt to obtain the list of blocked files from the Default Security Settings form located in the Outlook Security Settings or Outlook 10 Security Settings public folder. ZipOut will recognize additions and subtractions to the default list of blocked attachments and adjust its own list accordingly. However ZipOut cannot determine members of custom exception groups. The list of excluded files will always default to the Level 1 attachment security settings in the Default Security Settings form.
