To execute ZipOut commands, click the appropriate command on the Standard Toolbar of an Outlook message, the ZipOut Toolbar, or the ZipOut Shortcut menu. The ZipOut Toolbar shown below provides quick access to important ZipOut commands.

Office 2007 introduced a new user interface called the Ribbon. In Outlook 2007 there is a separate ZipOut group on the Ribbon which holds all of the message-specific ZipOut commands

The ZipOut command bar buttons appear on the Standard toolbar for an Outlook message. The Standard toolbar shown below appears in Outlook 2003. For other versions of Outlook, Standard toolbars differ in appearance, but the basic functionality remains the same. If you have disabled ZipOut for a particular Item type using the ZipOut Property Page, the ZipOut command bar buttons will not appear for that item type. These buttons let you control the operation of ZipOut on a message-by-message basis. The ZipOut On/Off and ZipOut Combine/Separate buttons are toggle buttons and will change caption and appearance when you click them. The ZipOut Options button displays the ZipOut Options dialog box. You must make the Standard toolbar visible in order to use the ZipOut command bar buttons.

Note for Outlook 2000 only If you select Word as your default mail editor in Outlook 2000, the ZipOut command bar buttons (ZipOut On/Off, Combine, and Options) do not appear on the message toolbar but instead are available from the ZipOut Toolbar in the Outlook Explorer window. If you are using HTML or Plain Text as your default mail format with Word as your default e-mail editor, you must restart Outlook in order for the ZipOut toolbar to display the ZipOut command bar buttons. ZipOut version 2.1.2301 or later compresses attachments with both the Outlook and Word editors and with all mail formats including Outlook Rich Text, HTML and plain text.
Note for Outlook 2002 and 2003 With Office XP or later all instances of Word share common toolbars. If you have a message open in Outlook 2002 or 2003 that uses Word as the e-mail editor and then also open a Word document, the ZipOut command bar buttons will appear on the Standard toolbar in both WordMail and the Word document. Ignore the ZipOut command bar buttons on the Standard toolbar in Word.
Note The state of the ZipOut command bar buttons is for the current Windows user, and is not tied to a specific MAPI profile.
Tip
If you can't see the Command Bar Buttons, consult
ZipOut
FAQ which explains circumstances under which the buttons might fail to
appear. If the size of the Inspector window is too small to display all the
buttons on the Standard toolbar, you will also see the More Buttons button
at the far right side of the toolbar. Click the More Buttons button
to display a drop-down of additional toolbar buttons. Click the button on the More
Buttons drop-down that you wish to activate. The command bar buttons
drop-down is shown in the Inspector below.
