Working with Forms

You work with custom forms in the Script Director Folder Tree. When you select a form in the folder tree, Outlook will display the script associated with that form. If the form does not contain script, you will be informed that the form does not contain script in the Script Preview pane. You cannot directly edit the scripting code for forms within the Script Preview pane the way you can for scripting or routing agents. For detailed information on designing Outlook forms, see the references listed in our Books section, under Resources.

To Display the Properties of a Form
  1. Select the form in the Folder Tree
  2. Click the Properties button on the Script Director toolbar or press F8. You will see the Form Properties dialog box displayed below.

To design a form
  1. Select the source form in the folder tree.

  2. Click the Design Form button on the Script Director toolbar, double-click the form in the folder tree, or press Ctrl+R. You can not modify the script behind a form directly in the Script Preview pane. You must open the form in design mode to change the script behind the form.

Note  If you make changes to the script behind the form while you are in form design mode, you will not see those changes immediately reflected in the Script Preview pane. You must navigate to a different node in the folder tree and then move back to the form node.
