Editors

In addition to Notepad, Script Director can utilize the more advanced editing features of Wordpad, Microsoft Visual Basic, Microsoft Visual InterDev, or an editor of your choice. Use the Options command on the View menu and click the Editor tab in the Options dialog box to select a default script editing environment.

Note Visual Basic does not correctly interpret script tags, but its syntax-checking and Autofill features can be very useful. Do not remove the script tags from your script. If you attempt to save a script without the script tags, Script Director will warn you that you are saving an illegal script.

The editor you select for Script Director is a matter of personal choice. The illustration below shows an editing session in Visual InterDev 6.0. Notice that keywords are highlighted in blue and remarks are shown in green. You can also obtain context-sensitive help by placing the cursor under a keyword and pressing the F1 key.
