The current state of Script Director is saved for you automatically when you exit. Automatic startup options include window size, showing or hiding the toolbar and status bar, and editor and folder tree font size. If you need to change the startup options when Script Director launches, simply change the state of the option and the changes will be saved automatically when you exit the program.
To set the font name, size, and style in the Script pane:
Select Set Script Preview Font on the View menu.
Select the Font name, size, and attributes in the dialog box.
Click OK.
To set the font name, size, and style in the Folder tree pane:
Select Set Folder Tree Font on the View menu.
Select the Font name, size, and attributes in the dialog box.
Click OK.
To change the Font Size up or down:
Click in either the Folder tree or Script preview pane.
Press F7 to increase font size or F6 to decrease font size.
You can also customize Script Director by selecting the Options command on the View menu and setting the following options:
When a script changes Controls whether or not you are prompted if you change a script in the preview pane.
Save Changes If you select the Save Changes option, the script is saved automatically without user intervention.
Prompt If you select the Prompt option, Script Director prompts you if you want to save changes to the current script in the preview pane. Prompt is the default action.
Discard Discards all changes made to the current script.
Show Page Setup and Print dialogs when printing Check this box if you want page setup and print dialogs to appear when you click the Print command button for various grids displayed by Script Director.
Return to last node in folder tree on startup Check
this box if you want to return to the last node you visited in the folder tree
when Script Director starts. If you are working with a node that is deep in the
public folder hierarchy, selecting this option will slow the startup
performance. You can also use the Favorites menu to return to a node after your
start Script Director.
Default File Location for Save As The edit box displays the default folder for Save As file operations. Click the modify button to change the default folder for saving scripts, maps, and tracking tables.
Script Editor Select the default editor to open a script when you select the Open Script command on the File menu. If you select other in the drop-down, you will be able to enter the full path of an alternative script editor.
Log Editor Select the default editor to open a log when you select the Agent Log command on the File menu. The Log Editor also opens a log when you select the Error Log (Windows 98/Me only), Form Log, or Script Log commands on the View menu. You can specify Microsoft Excel as the Log Editor and open both the Script Log and Form Log in a mode that recognizes the tabular format of these logs.
Note If you do specify an alternative Log Editor by selecting Other in the Log Editor drop-down box, Notepad will be used to open the Error Log (Windows 98/Me only) and the Agent Log. The Form Log and Script Log will continue to open in the alternative Log Editor.
Path to Other Enter the full path of an alternative script or log editor. This editor must be able to accept a command line argument to open the temporary text file that is created when editing scripts or viewing logs.
Find Use the find button to find the alternative script or log editor on your file system.
